Myanmar Tourism Up 20%

Compared to last year’s tourist arrivals, there is an 20% increase in the number of the tourists who passed through the Yangon International Airport in 2011,

said U Htay Aung, Minister of Hotel and Tourism.

Monthly statistics are as follows;

March – 39909

April – 24774

May – 24276

June – 25382

July – 27520

August – 24965

September – 24186

October – 33009

November – 39213

The total visitors in 2011 excluding the month of December is 339210. Last year it was 310688 for the whole year.
