Myanmar Online Visa Set To Launch In February

Myanmar online visa (e-visa) is scheduled to introduce in February, said an official from Ministry of Hotel & Tourism. The exact date will be announced after a testing period which is due in the first week of February.

Tourist Arrvials To Myanmar Expected To Rise

Come fiscal year - April 2012 to March 2013 - tourist arrivals to Myanmar are expected to go up to half a million, said the secretary of Myanmar Tourism Association to Messenger, a popular Myanmar news journal.

Russians Are Coming - To Myanmar

Russian investors are studying to find the possibilities to invest in Myanmar tourism sectors. They took an interest in funding hotel renovations in Ngwe Saung beach and also planned to arrange facilities for Russian tourists. Since 2004, Russian visitors began to stream into Myanmar, most of them travel to Bagan, Mandalay and Inlay environ, explained a Russian tour guide.

Vietnam is their major point of entry to the Land of Pagodas. Volume of Russian tourists is unusually high this year, and as a result it is a bit hard to find Russian speaking tour guides at the moment. There are only 25 Russian guides in Myanmar.

In 2012, foreign visitors could have a chance to see the forbidden city, Naypyidaw, which was built a couple of years ago to be an administrative capital in place of Yangon.

24 Hour Emergency Health Care Service In Bagan

Leo Medicare is planning to set up a 24 hour emergency health care service in Bagan area in the last week of December 2011. This type of service is the first of its kind in Myanmar and mainly intended for the tourists. It also plan to open such medical units in other tourist destinations.Their service will include urgent medicare unit and operation rooms to attend patient visitors.
