Nagayon Temple

Just across the Abeyadana temple is the Nagayon Temple. King Kyansittha built this temple on the site where he slept protected by the naga. Indeed, the large Buddha image in the inner shrine is protected by a hooded naga. Again many of the corridor niches contain Buddha images, and part of a series of wall paintings depicting the life of the Buddha decorates the entrance.
