Kyansittha Cave Temple

A stone's throw from the Shwezigon is the simple Kyansittha Cave Temple, which served as a place of lodging for monks. Its long dark corridors are painted with murals, some of which depict the Mongul soldiers who invaded Bagan in 1287. The temple is believed to date from Anawrahta's or Kyansittha's reign.
